Support Worker - Mental Health

Retain Healthcare are actively seeking experienced Support Workers to work within a number of sites for a local mental health service.The service is a bespoke specialist service, providing care and support for people with Learning Dissabilites, Autism, ABI, Sensory Loss, Mental Health Conditions, Phisical Dissabilities and Behaviours that Challenge.

Location:
You will be working in a variety of residential settings in and around Cheltenham and Gloucester.

Your duties will be enabling life skills, engaging the community, assiting with domestic duties, some persnal care and medication administring.

Requirements for this role:
  • Minimum 6 months paid experience in care setting, preferably mental health
  • A current PBM/PBS certicate would be advantageous but not essential.
  • You will be required to complete a criminal records check (DBS)
  • We will require 3 employment references
  • Right to work in the UK

Retain Healthcare, Bristol are currently recruiting care assistants to work within specialist residential care homes and supported living services in Bath for ongoing shifts. You will be supporting adults of varying ability to live a normal life.
The role will require some personal care, house keeping and general companionship. The work will be onging and mainly 12 hour shifts both day and night.

You will be working alongside a team of experience and dedicated staff who specialise in the care of vulnerable residents both full time and respite.

The role will include:

  • Helping residents to remain as active and independent as possible
  • Respecting residents’ rights of choice, privacy and dignity
  • Supporting residents with mealtimes and personal care.
  • Helping residents with hobbies, activities and engaging in physical activities in a relaxed environment
  • Assisting with medication

A variety of shifts will be available , both day or night and bookable via our dedicated app.
 
Travel allowance for people living outside a 10 mile radius of the service.

Support Worker

Retain Healthcare, Gloucestershire are currently recruiting support workers to work within specialist residential service in The Forest of Dean for ongoing shifts. You will be working alongside one of the country's leading providers to support people with learning and physic disabilities.
There are 2 to 3 month full timeblock bookings available.

Pay rates are £12 to £22 per hour (with holiday pay accrued separately)

Location:
The service is situated near Lydbrook in the Forest of Dean so driving and own car is essential.

A variety of shifts are available including nights and long days and either ad hock or block booked work is available.
The purpose of your role is to give the highest possible standards of support to individuals with  learning and physical disabilities.

Your duties will be assisting with all aspects of daily living including personal care, medication and healthcare appointments along with accessing the local community and maintaining relations with family and friends. Additional activities may include:
  • Trips to pubs and restaurants
  • Music and discos
  • Cinema and watching movies in the house
  • Gaming
  • Walking/exercise and some sport
  • Art and craft sessions

Requirements for this role:
  • Minimum 6 months paid experience in care setting
  • A driver with own car due to location.
  • Experience with Autism and LD an advantage but not essential
  • Physical Intervention Training(PBM, PMVA) desirable but not essential
  • Right to work in the UK

Key Responsibilities:
 
Provide key support and care to clients within the designated service.
Offer personal care assistance to identified clients.
Play an active role in assessing and managing client risk in a calm and clear manner.
Manage client meetings and facilitate the involvement of Client Inclusion and Training representatives.
Ensure adherence to policies and procedures regarding medication management within the facility.
Assist in managing the referral process to achieve agreed occupancy levels within the service.
A satisfactory enhanced DBS and Adults Barred List check are required for this role, and job offers are subject to the Trust receiving satisfactory evidence of the successful applicant’s right to work in the UK.
