Care Assistant - Waking Nights

£10.00 - £15.00 per hour Paid Holidays, Pension Scheme
 

Job Description

WAKING NIGHTS - CARE ASSISTANT - TROWBRIDGE

We are recruiting for experienced care assistants across Trowbridge and surrounding areas to join our long term homecare and agency team!

We have a variety of placements available including support those with adults with dementia and customers with Learning Disabilities within different settings in the community as well as care settings.

You maybe offering companionship, promoting independence as well as other duties including:

  • Personal care
  • Manual handling
  • Meal times
  • Social activities
  • Record keeping and more!

This would be a great opportunity for someone looking to gain more experience, waiting a fixed regular work pattern or someone looking for flexible hours! We can offer hours from 1 shift a week to full time hours, you choose the hours you want to do!

Our requirements of a Waking Nights Care Assistant are:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience of working within a nursing home or within a community carer environment
  • Driver or ability to get to shifts on time
  • Committed to providing quality care and support

    Main Duties and Responsibilities include:
    • When required liaise with Social Workers, District Nurses and other agency professionals within the multidisciplinary team.
    • Contribute towards communicating changes of requirements.
    • Ensure that you work within the company policies and procedures.
    • Attending training and expanding your personal development
    • Assist customers as appropriate with their personal needs, such as dressing, washing, meal preparation and access to their community as detailed in the Care Plan.
    • When working within a customer’s home setting you may be assisting customers with, or where necessary carry out light housework, such as dusting, sweeping/ vacuuming carpets, living rooms/ kitchens/ bathrooms and toilets, polishing furniture using dusters/ mops/ equipment, washing and ironing clothing and bed linen, preparing and cooking a meal.
    • Following the outcome focused model, encourage customers to undertake personal care and tasks which they are capable of, recognising that their abilities may change, in some circumstances, on a day-to-day basis
