Reablement Support Worker, Devizes

£9 - £10 per hour flexible hours
 

Job Description

Retain healthcare are on the hunt for passionate and kind people like you to join our amazing team as either a Full or Part time Reablement Support Worker in Devizes. We work on a rota basis so therefore we do ask for availability to cover early mornings, afternoons/evenings and occasional weekends. We also have night sits available.

You'll become part of our incredible team, helping us deliver outstanding care and support to our customers within their own homes.

Previous experience is not essential as we'll train and support you, so you can confidently deliver a great service and you'll develop a bond with your clients, which will help you to assist them with tasks and keep an eye on their health and well-being.

To be a successful Home Carer you will have the following skills and experience:

  • A full UK driving license with access to a vehicle.
  • Love working with people and enjoy giving back to your local community.
  • Kind, caring and compassionate nature.
  • Prior experience isn't necessary but experienced carers are very welcome. Full training is provided however NVQs and Diplomas are always beneficial.

     A variety of shifts are available including nights and long days and either ad hock or block booked work is available.
    The purpose of your role is to give the highest possible standards of support to individuals with moderate to severe learning disabilities
    Your duties will be assisting with all aspects of daily living including personal care, medication and healthcare appointments along with accessing the local community and maintaining relations with family and friends. Additional activities may include:
    • Trips to pubs and restaurants
    • Music and discos
    • Cinema and watching movies in the house

    • Walking/exercise and some sport
    • Art and craft sessions

    Requirements for this role:
    • Minimum 6 months paid experience in care setting
    • Experience with Autism and LD an advantage but not essential
    • Physical Intervention Training(PBM, PMVA) desirable but not essential

    Main Duties and Responsibilities include:

    • When required liaise with Social Workers, District Nurses and other agency professionals within the multidisciplinary team.

    • Following the outcome focused model, encourage customers to undertake personal care and tasks which they are capable of, recognising that their abilities may change, in some circumstances, on a day-to-day basis

    We at Retain Healthcare are looking for confident individuals to work in a complex care package in Chippenham.
    This package has two shift patterns, 08:00-20:00 and 20:00-08:00. Please note that night shifts are waking nights.
     
    The main duties and responsibilities include:

    • Remaining awake and alert for the entirety of the shift.
    • Completing regular checks for health and welfare.
    • Supporting the customer with their personal care needs.
    • Supporting the customer to meet their outcomes.
    • Supporting the customer with daily activities such as shopping, hobbies, attending appointments, accessing the community and keeping the home up together with domestic tasks.
    • Administering medication.
    • Use of moving and assisting equipment such as ceiling track hoists, electric wheelchairs, through the floor lifts, toto’s etc.
    • Encouraging independence where possible.
    Knowledge of spinal injury, autonomic dysreflexia, diabetes, stoma care and catheter care is desirable but if not, we can provide full training.

    Requirements:
    • Previous care experience necessary
    • 25 years old and over
    • Must hold a UK driving license
