Job Description

Retain Healthcare are developing a brand new service, and we are looking for the very best support workers in Wiltshire to work within a specialist supported living setting in Chippenham. You will be working alongside a team of experienced and dedicated staff who specialise in supporting young adults with an Autistic Spectrum Conditions and Eating Disorders.  You will be supporting people with a therapeutic approach that enables them to live a fulfilling life.

This team will receive the very best training and development to ensure that they are skilled in supporting the people we support. We are looking for full time, part time and bank staff, days, nights and Sleep ins to deliver this service with a range of contracts to meet your individual employment needs.

Pay rates are £14.00 to £21 per hour (with holiday pay accrued separately)

Location:
The service is situated in Chippenham.
Your duties will be assisting with all aspects of daily living including personal care, medication and supporting to attend healthcare appointments. Accessing paid employment and opportunities, exploring the local community and maintaining relations with family and friends. Additional activities may include:
  • Swimming 
  • Animal Therapy
  • Further Education
  • Walking/exercise
  • Social events to develop skills 
  • And supporting other personal interests that they have
Requirements for this role:
  • Minimum 6 months paid experience in a similar setting
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Driving Licence preferable
  • PBM or PMVA training - although this can be provided for the right person

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:
    • To ensure you support the branch to continues to grow and develop its well established homecare services.
    • To ensure you hit your KPI, covering areas such as the recruitment of new staff, number of packages taken on and the development of our privet funding customer base.
    • Ensure that you create travel effective rotas in advance and that customers have a consistent high-quality service from people they know.
    • Ensure you Keep effective relationships with the staff, have an understanding of their work requirements. Ensure the team roster effectively, skill matching to specific needs are managed effectively.
    • Report and record any safeguarding concerns to the Registered Manager.
    • Attend training and expand your personal development, you will need to have the ability to use reflective practice and that learning logs are completed so that lessons can be learnt and improve overall service delivery for the branch

    • Ensure there is appropriate staffing levels to ensure capacity.
    • Monitor sickness and absence of staff and work with staff to improve where their attendance is below the expected standard.
    • You will need to ensure that the homecare service works in an outcome focus way that is person centred to the individual customer. Ensuing that support plans a written to a high standard and that risk assessments are carried out and reviewed in line with the company’s policy. Mentoring to staff responsible for care plans and risk assessments on how this should be carried out.
    • Interview care and support staff and book them onto training.
