Job Description
Role: Homecare co-ordinator
Location: Cheltenham
Hours: 8:30-17:00 Monday to Friday
Maternity cover
Retain healthcare are currently recruiting for a home care co-ordinator to assist two other experienced co-ordinators in our Cheltenham branch. This role will be a maternity cover position to provide support with our homecare contracts across Gloucestershire, supporting adults who have been discharged from hospital and re-establishing their independence in their own homes.
This role will be office based, although you may be required to go out into the community for visits or assessments. You will also need to be willing to go out into the community when required to cover for our support workers if they are unable to attend a visit. This role would be suited to someone with experience of working in care, preferably at a team leader level.

This role will include:
- Updating care plans
- Co-ordinating homecare staff
- Ensuring our clients are receiving the highest possible level of care at all time
- On call
- Supporting home carers with on going supervisions and appraisals
- Providing an excellent customer service to clients and communication with other office staff.
Our criteria for a home care co-ordinator includes:
· A full UK driving license with access to a vehicle.
· NVQ 3 would be preferred (but we can support you to complete this)
· Kind, caring and compassionate nature.
· Prior experience of working within care
Our homecare service allows our clients the option of returning to the comfort of their own home to recover from an accident, illness or operation. Our Support Workers work with people to regain their confidence and skills required to live as independently as possible in their own home, working towards goals set out upon the start of their care package..
These goals can range from support in preparing meals and household tasks to personal care and will be tailored around improving quality of life for those we work with. Progress is reviewed daily initially and care plans are tailored accordingly, in order to monitor and adapt to individual support needs.

- Following the outcome focused model, encourage customers to undertake personal care and tasks which they are capable of, recognising that their abilities may change, in some circumstances, on a day-to-day basis
