The Ward Sister / Charge Nurse will be an effective team leader and proactive role model in terms of clinical, educational and quality standards. They are responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating all programmes of care; challenging ineffective practice or poor decision making where required.
They will promote high standards of evidence based practice at all times, providing strong professional operational leadership across both inpatient areas. They will oversee the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care that is focused on improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers.
They will often work without direct supervision and are empowered to use their initiative towards goal setting, problem solving and unplanned situations.
The hours of this post may vary as this role is based across our 2 community hospitals at St Martin's and Paulton but may involve travelling between the Acute and other Community services and Primary Care Networks within the geographical boundary of Bath and North East Somerset Community Health and Care Services.
The post holder will be required to operate within a dynamic environment and in collaboration with agencies and other Health and Social Care professionals to ensure inpatient safety and system flow.
