Support Worker - Supported Living
Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire
Salary: from £12.75 per hour
 
Retain Healthcare is a fast-growing provider of supported living services in around the Chippenham area including Trowbridge, Westbury , Calne and Corsham.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing personalised support to individuals, ensuring their well-being and safety.
  • Assisting with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Supporting individuals in developing and maintaining social relationships and participating in community activities.
  • Promoting independence and self-advocacy skills.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of support provided via Digital Care Planning.
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals involved in the individual's care, such as family members, healthcare providers, and social workers.
 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a supported living setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle essential.
  • PMVA qualification or experience in caregiving or social work are desirable but not essential as all training will be given

    Retain Healthcare, Chippenham are currently recruiting support workers to work within specialist residential and supported living service in central Chippenham for ongoing shifts and ad hoc work.

    The service is situated in Central Chippenham , just minutes away from the town center. It comprises of 2 houses joined with a communal lounge and dining area.
     

    Your duties will be assisting with all aspects of daily living including personal care, medication and healthcare appointments along with accessing the local community and maintaining relations with family and friends. Additional activities may include:


    • Bingo
    • Music and discos
    • Cinema and watching movies
    • Walking/exercise and some sport
    • Art and craft sessions
    • And whatever the residents personal hobby may be.

    Requirements for this role:


    • Minimum 6 months paid experience in care setting
    • Experience complex care and LD an advantage but not essential
    • Right to work in the UK
    • Due to location, Driving Licence and own vehicle preferred but not essential.

You will be working alongside one of the country's leading providers to support people with learning disabilities and autism to live with more independence.

    Location:
    The services are situated in the a residential are of Trowbridge, Wiltshire. At this service  they support four young adults with LD and Autism.
     A variety of shifts are available including nights and long days and either ad hock or block booked work is available.
    The purpose of your role is to give the highest possible standards of support to individuals with moderate to severe learning disabilities
    Your duties will be assisting with all aspects of daily living including personal care, medication and healthcare appointments along with accessing the local community and maintaining relations with family and friends. Additional activities may include:
    • Trips to pubs and restaurants
    • Music and discos
    • Cinema and watching movies in the house
    • Gaming
    • Walking/exercise and some sport
    • Art and craft sessions

    Requirements for this role:
    • Minimum 6 months paid experience in care setting
    • Experience with Autism and LD an advantage but not essential
    • Physical Intervention Training(PBM, PMVA) desirable but not essential
    • Right to work in the UK
