Job Description

Title: Senior Care Assistant - residential settings
Location:
Gloucester
Salary:
from £14 per hour
 
Full-time, part-time, and bank hours available
Day and night shifts available


We are currently recruiting Senior Care Assistants to work within specialist residential care homes in Gloucester for ongoing shifts. You will be working alongside a team of experienced and dedicated staff who specialise in the care of elderly residents with dementia.
 
As a Senior Care Assistant, you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing and assisting with daily living activities, including personal care, medication administration, and meal preparation
  • Taking handover of residents and tasks from the previous shift
  • Allocating staff to residents based on their needs and skills
  • Administering medications accurately and safely
  • Leading and mentoring staff members
  • Liaising with any healthcare professionals on the day, such as doctors and nurses
  • Managing any emergencies that arise on the day and handing over to appropriate emergency services if required
  • Checking that all staff are on track with care interventions, fluid charts, and other tasks
  • Giving handover to the next shift
About You: To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • Relevant qualifications and training or willingness to obtain them
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a care home setting, preferably as a Senior Care Assistant
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to care
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

    Location: Gloucester and surrounding areas
    Salary: From £12 to £15 per hour, depending on experience.
    Contract: 30h per week
