Registered Manager

Job Title: Registered Manager – Domiciliary and Complex Care
Reports to: Head of Homecare
Location: Chippenham (covering Chippenham & Bath)
Salary: £38,000 – £40,000 Performance Bonus

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven Registered Manager to lead our Chippenham and Bath services. Retain Healthcare is a dynamic and expanding homecare provider, delivering high-quality care in the community — from 30-minute visits to 24-hour complex care packages.
As Registered Manager, you will oversee all aspects of service delivery, compliance, business development, and team leadership. You will play a pivotal role in building relationships with local authorities, NHS teams, and private clients while maintaining the highest standards of care and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Compliance

  • Lead and develop the branch, with a focus on sustainable growth in both commissioned and private markets.
  • Ensure all services meet CQC standards and align with the Care Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Monitor and exceed KPIs, including recruitment targets, package growth, and private customer acquisition.
Team Management
  • Build, support, and inspire a high-performing team of Coordinators and Care Staff.
  • Ensure effective rota planning that promotes continuity of care and travel efficiency.
  • Oversee the recruitment process following safer recruitment and values-based guidelines.
  • Conduct regular supervisions and annual appraisals; manage underperformance proactively and in line with policy.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Foster excellent relationships with clients and their families, ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with external partners, including local authority commissioning teams and health professionals.
  • Uphold GDPR standards and act as the branch’s Data Protection Lead.
Operational Excellence
  • Maintain accurate, professional, and non-opinionated records.
  • Ensure social media and branch communications adhere to marketing and branding guidelines.
  • Lead on complaint resolution and disciplinary matters where necessary.

What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager within a domiciliary or complex care setting.
  • Strong understanding of CQC’s Single Assessment Framework and Care Certificate standards.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Knowledge of local care markets and competitor benchmarking.
  • Financial acumen – experience managing budgets and hitting performance targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and resilient approach.
