Health Care Assistant- Days

£9 - £18 per hour Pension, holiday pay
 

Job Description

Here at Retain Healthcare we are looking for enthusiastic and passionate carers to build on our expanding and experienced team. Skills can be trained but being kind and compassionate needs to come naturally.

At Retain Healthcare our Healthcare Assistants are invaluable to us delivering excellent quality and effective service to the Nursing, residential homes and learning disability establishments within Bristol and Weston-Super-Mare this includes local surrounding areas. Reliability and effective communication with the office team is essential to maintain a good relationship and ensuring full support is given at all times from both parties.

-A minimum of 6 months experience of working within a professional care environment

    • Helping residents with hobbies, activities and engaging in physical activities in a relaxed environment
    • Assisting with medication

    A variety of shifts will be available , both day or night and bookable via our dedicated app.
     
    Travel allowance for people living outside a 10 mile radius of the service.

    Required:

    Main Duties and Responsibilities include:

    • When required liaise with Social Workers, District Nurses and other agency professionals within the multidisciplinary team.
    • Contribute towards communicating changes of requirements.
    • Ensure that you work within the company policies and procedures.
    • Attending training and expanding your personal development
    • Assist customers as appropriate with their personal needs, such as dressing, washing, meal preparation and access to their community as detailed in the Care Plan.
    • When working within a customer’s home setting you may be assisting customers with, or where necessary carry out light housework, such as dusting, sweeping/ vacuuming carpets, living rooms/ kitchens/ bathrooms and toilets, polishing furniture using dusters/ mops/ equipment, washing and ironing clothing and bed linen, preparing and cooking a meal.
    • Following the outcome focused model, encourage customers to undertake personal care and tasks which they are capable of, recognising that their abilities may change, in some circumstances, on a day-to-day basis
